Herpes Tips That Surely Work Great
  • It can be very scary and frustrating for someone to handle having herpes infections if they have never gotten them before. Learn what you can about herpes infections in order to prevent and cure them. Read the following information to educate yourself.

Working out or simply going outside on a hot summer day will cause you to sweat a lot. This type of environment is conductive to the growth of herpes. Wear clothing made of cotton or other natural fibers. These materials are breathable and make you less likely to sweat. Synthetic fibers, such as Lycra and spandex, should be avoided. These fabrics will trap sweat and lock in the humidity.

One way to minimize the chance of getting a herpes infection is to be sure you get every last bit of moisture off your body after you bathe. Herpes loves moisture. Herpes cannot grow if no water is present; therefore, you will have less herpes infections.

Avoid stress to prevent getting herpes infections. Stress can limit the effectiveness of your immune system, which plays a very large part in keeping you healthy and preventing infections during the course of the day.

When taking a bath, avoid bubble bath, bath salts and perfumed soaps, and help prevent the start of a herpes infection. These scented products can help herpes flourish and increase the chances of getting an infection. Also, do not use tampons or sanitary pads with scents, as they have the same effect on the vaginal area.

Don't wear tight pants, particularly skinny jeans. You may love your tight jeans, but they won't allow your body to breathe. The less air you have in your crotch, the more herpes will grow. Choose airy, light pants that are comfortable.

Enjoy a relaxing bath with a cup or two of cider vinegar poured into the bath. Vinegar works to restore pH balance and helps starve the herpes. Don't soak for longer that you usually do. If it's easier for you, you can douche 3 tbs. of apple cider vinegar per every quart of some warm water.

Herpes infections are contagious, so exercise caution at all times. If you develop a herpes infection, wait to have sex for at least a week or so after the infection has cleared up. When you have oral thrush, avoid kissing and don't use the same utensils as someone else.

Eating a cup full of plain yogurt daily can work to prevent a herpes infection. Certain bacteria found in yogurt can help fight organisms that cause herpes infections. That said, it's not a cure-all, of course; it won't help an existing condition.

If you experience a herpes infection during your period, start to plan ahead. An acidophilus tablet taken before and after your period can help. This will reduce or even eliminate the symptoms. By being proactive, you can hopefully stop the infection before it even starts.

Do not use scented or perfumed sprays, deoderants or protection products near the vagina. Items like these affect the body's pH, encouraging the development of herpes. They can mask odors which are indicative of bacterial infections which requires medical attention.

Herpes infections are contagious, so exercise caution at all times.
